Executive Board
Below is the 2014-2015 MSOE SAE executive board.
Individual pictures with officer positions and brief biographies are below.
President: Karl HundtI am a junior attending Milwaukee School of Engineering. I have always been interested in mechanical things, and I saw the school as a great way to learn more about the designs and principles governing such devices. I have worked with farm machinery for many years and have developed a love for such equipment, and aspire to be the person designing and testing those machines that feed the world. I have long enjoyed working with my hands and spend much of my free time building and fixing things, along with my fair share of welding and fabricating. I saw SAE as well as the SuperMileage Team as a great opportunity to be part of a design/build group, and I have enjoyed it greatly. I am the co-Chassis, Steering and Fabrication Team Leader and really enjoy working with the capable and motivated members of my team. Last year, I served as the SAE Secretary, and this year have the opportunity to serve as chapter President. What I learn each day through my involvement with SAE will be invaluable in the future engineering career, and for this I am very grateful. |

Vice President: Adrian RobillardI am this year’s MSOE SAE Vice Chairman. As a junior mechanical engineering student, this will be my second year on the SAE Officer Team. I also hold the position of Vice Project Manager on the SAE SuperMileage team. I’m really looking forward to a great year and working on some of our events like the MSOE May Day Car Show! |

Secretary: Lauren GouletI am a sophomore mechanical engineering student. My interest in engineering comes from my passion for NASCAR racing. This is my first year as Secretary on the MSOE SAE officer team. I have been involved with SuperMileage for 2 years and enjoy working on the design and fabrication of the chassis, steering, and braking systems. I would like to apply the knowledge I have gained from the SMV team to hopefully someday working on a NASCAR race team. |

Treasurer: Simon GallI am currently a junior mechanical engineering student. This is my first year as Treasurer on the MSOE SAE officer team. I am also the Secretary on the MSOE Fishing Team. I have been a part of SAE since my freshman year and participated in SuperMileage my freshman and sophomore year. Automotive based engineering has always interested me which led to my involvement in MSOE SAE. I look forward to applying what I have learned from my SAE experience to a future career in the automotive industry. I am also the big rig coordinator for the MSOE SAE Team. |
|
Sponsorship Coordinator: Ben MuellerI am currently a junior mechanical engineering student participating on the Formula Hybrid team. As a freshman mechanical engineering student, I was initially drawn to MSOE’s SAE student chapter by the opportunity to design, build, and race a hybrid, open-wheel race car in the SAE Formula Hybrid competition. Over the past two years, SAE involvement has helped me develop valuable engineering, networking, presentation, and project management skills. As sponsorship coordinator of MSOE SAE, I now have the unique opportunity to work with businesses across the country in order to extend these benefits to fellow students and advance mobility as our motto states. When I’m not working with SAE or doing homework, I enjoy landscaping, playing guitar, and of course, driving! |
|
Program Coordinator: Brandon VanderheydenI am a sophomore mechanical engineering student here at MSOE. My interest in engineering came from a supermileage competition that I went to with my father when I was in 5th grade. I saw the amazing vehicles that students were able to design and build and I wanted to be a part of that. I have been involved with supermileage vehicles for three years now, one in high school and two here at MSOE. During my first year on the team here I was a part of the engine team and worked mainly on the fuel delivery system, this year is my first year as project manager. I hope to apply the knowledge and leadership skills I learn being a part of this team in the automotive industry. |
|
Design Team Liaison: Greg KucabI am a senior mechanical engineering student and serve as the Design Team Liaison for the chapter this year. I have been a member of our SAE since my freshman year and I was the Program Coordinator my junior year. My responsibilities to the chapter are to communicate between all the design teams, inform them of any upcoming meetings or presentations, and keep track of the teams progress. I also assist the sponsorship coordinator and webmaster by updating them with design team progress. |
|
Webmaster: David DoyleI am a senior mechanical engineering student and serve as the chapter’s webmaster, managing both this website as well as our facebook page at facebook.com/MSOESAE. I was a member of the Supermileage vehicle team for the first three years of my undergraduate education working on vehicle aerodynamics and was involved with MSOE’s SAE chapter as a result. I was the chapter’s webmaster my sophomore in addition to this year. My engineering interests are in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics/aerodynamics. My dream job is to one day work as an aerodynamicist for a Formula One racing team. |

Faculty Advisor: Dr. Christopher DammDr. Christopher Damm is Professor and Director of the Mechanical Engineering Program at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he teaches courses in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, engineering design, renewable energy and advanced energy technologies. Dr. Damm’s research and consulting focus on energy conversion and pollutants associated with energy conversion. Current research topics of interest are solar photovoltaics, solar thermal energy systems, combined heat, electric microgrids, power systems for advanced commercial buildings, emission factors from on-road motor vehicles, the development of laser diagnostic techniques for characterizing reacting flows, and the design and implementation of advanced energy technologies. His degrees in Mechanical Engineering are from the University of California, Berkeley (Ph.D.) and the University of Minnesota (M.S. and B.S.). He holds a second Masters degree in Physics from Brown University. He has been the faculty advisor for the MSOE SAE chapter since 2004 and the faculty advisor for the Supermileage Vehicle team since 2008. You can learn more about his research and teaching by visiting his website https://faculty-web.msoe.edu/damm/ . |
